Journalist Nicolo Schira revealed that German club Bayer Leverkusen has shown interest in signing Ilkay Gundogan, the Manchester City player, who is no longer part of coach Pep Guardiola's plans for the current season.

The experienced German star is expected to leave the City ranks in the coming days, as he has fallen out of the team's tactical considerations, amidst interest from several clubs to sign him.

Reports have indicated that Turkish club Galatasaray is closely monitoring the situation, as they too are looking to sign the veteran star during the current transfer window to strengthen their midfield with the player's vast experience.

Gundogan, who is 34 years old, has played 358 matches with Manchester City, scoring 65 goals and providing 47 assists, and has had several experiences with Dortmund and Barcelona. His contract with City expires in the summer of 2026.
