Latest Developments in Transfer Deals at Al-Ettifaq Club
Al-Ettifaq Club has decided to withdraw from its negotiations with South African player Rele Mofokeng, a winger from Orlando Pirates, after the South African club insisted on keeping the player and expressed its desire for him to remain with them for the current season.
Sources revealed to "Asharq Al-Awsat" that the management of Al-Ettifaq will look into alternative options for the winger position in the coming days, in order to complete the number of foreign players allocated for the local-born category.
In another context, the executive committee at Al-Nasr Club has delayed sending the previously agreed official offer to purchase the contract of defender Abdullah Madu, which led to the cancellation of previous agreements and returned the file to the initial negotiation point.
Sources also clarified that Al-Ettifaq does not mind selling Madu's contract, in addition to the possibility of parting with defender Abdul Basit Hindi, who is attracting interest from several clubs looking to acquire him during the current transfer period.
On another note, goalkeeper Ahmed Al-Ruhaili is close to transferring to Al-Ahli, as both parties have reached a near-final agreement on a loan, with Al-Ettifaq management preferring to convert the deal into a final sale, and negotiations are ongoing to finalize the decision.
