Injury Ends Okidja's Career with His New Team Quickly

The Algerian international goalkeeper Alexander Okidja has ended his association with Serbian club IMT Belgrade, just a few weeks after joining them during the current summer transfer window, coming from French club Metz on a free transfer.

The website moselle.tv revealed that Okidja's experience with the Serbian team was cut short due to a serious injury to his cruciate ligament and a tear in the meniscus, which requires him to undergo surgery that will keep him off the field for several months.

Despite this harsh blow, the 'Greens' goalkeeper confirmed that he is not thinking about retirement at the moment, emphasizing: "I will try to continue playing because I believe I have a few years left to enjoy football."

Okidja was honored by the management of his former club Metz in appreciation of his seven-year career, where he expressed happiness in maintaining a special relationship with the club, noting that he will ensure to visit the team from time to time without disrupting the work of the coaching staff.

He added: "I feel welcomed and at home in Metz, which gives me a wonderful feeling, but that doesn't mean I will visit them every day."
