The Spanish coach Michel Gonzalez of Al-Qadisiyah revealed his surprise at his team's failure to reach the final of the Saudi Super Cup after Al-Hilal withdrew from the tournament.

Gonzalez said in the pre-match press conference: "For us, there is no difference whether we play against Al-Hilal or Al-Ahli, we have world-class names."

He continued: "We are happy to participate in the tournament, but the surprising thing is Al-Qadisiyah not reaching the final after Al-Hilal's withdrawal, but we respect all decisions and we will play a great match against Al-Ahli Jeddah."

He added: "This tournament features the best 4 clubs, and it lacks Al-Hilal who will not be here, but we have to enjoy and present a distinguished level to achieve the title."

He continued: "This is an important tournament for us, and we have done a great job last season, which motivates us to continue delivering outstanding performances."

He concluded: "We know the level of the opponent we will play against and we are not afraid of any team."
