Zakho Club introduced its new coach, Qatari Wissam Rizq, at an official press conference attended by representatives from the management and several media personnel, in preparation for the upcoming football season, which includes the competitions of the Iraqi Stars League and the Iraq Cup, in addition to the team's participation in the Gulf Champions League.

In his remarks, Wissam Rizq confirmed that responding to Zakho's offer did not take long, pointing out that the club has a professional management and a successful previous experience with coach Talal Al-Balushi, which is evidence of the organization and ambition within the team, along with the passion of the fans and their wonderful images that attract the attention of both Iraqi and Arab media.

Rizq spoke about his ambitions for the new season:

saying: "Our ambitions are very high; I certainly want to compete for the Stars League title and the Gulf Champions League. With teamwork and a unified spirit, we can achieve accomplishments and create events. Today, I sincerely look forward to making the fans happy and providing beautiful football that they deserve, and we will work day and night to achieve this goal, and I hope the results will be positive, in line with the club's status and the great love of the fans."

Regarding preparations, the Zakho management seeks to strengthen the team's ranks with the best elements during the summer transfer period, where the Qatari coach pays special attention to selecting local and professional players according to his technical style, focusing on enhancing vital positions such as right-back, midfield, and attack, in addition to bringing in foreign professionals who can add value to the team in local and continental tournaments.

Follow-up indicates that the club's management has maintained the core pillars of the team, led by captain Amjad Attwan and goalkeeper Ali Kazem, in addition to strengthening the ranks with several important deals, such as signing strikers Sherko Karim and Osama Rashid from Erbil, while some final additions remain that will provide the coach with wide options to diversify the playing style during the upcoming season.

Three main challenges await Wissam Rizq with Zakho: the first is to match or exceed the achievements made by Al-Balushi with the team, the second is to maintain consistency in local tournaments by providing a stable and competitive level, and the third is to shine in the Gulf Champions League and achieve positive results that befit the club's status and its large fan base.

These ambitious preparations and contracts confirm that Zakho seeks to continue its outstanding performance and compete for titles while building a balanced team that combines local experience and foreign professional capabilities, enabling the Qatari coach to implement his tactical plans and achieve the club's goals on all levels in the new season.
