Al-Akhdood Places Diabati at the Top of Its Summer Options
The management of Al-Akhdood Club has intensified its efforts to strengthen the first football team, as the name of Malian winger Fousseni Diabati has emerged as one of the most prominent candidates to join during the current transfer period, according to informed sources.
The management, led by Sami Al-Fadhil, aims to complete a fourth foreign deal this summer, after signing Brazilian goalkeeper Samuel Bertogal on loan from Porto, and securing contracts with German defender Koray Günter and midfielder Gokhan Gul.
Sources confirmed that negotiations are open with several names, but Diabati seems to be the closest to joining, especially after becoming a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Lausanne in Switzerland last month.
The 29-year-old Malian winger has extensive experience, having previously played for prominent clubs such as Leicester City in England, Trabzonspor and Sivaspor in Turkey, in addition to Partizan in Serbia, before moving to Lausanne in the summer of 2023.
During two seasons in the Swiss league, Diabati participated in 67 matches, scoring ten goals and providing an equal number of assists, as well as playing 11 international matches with the Malian national team between 2023 and 2024, and participating in the latest edition of the Africa Cup of Nations. His market value is currently estimated at 1.2 million euros according to the "Transfermarkt" website.
