Brentford Reaches Agreement to Sign Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth
Friday 15-08-2025
Sky Sports reported that Brentford has reached a preliminary agreement with Bournemouth to sign Burkina Faso international winger Dango Ouattara in a record deal worth £42 million, making it the most expensive in the club's history.

The negotiations between the two clubs involved intensive discussions that lasted 72 hours, after Ouattara informed Bournemouth's management of his desire to leave, prompting the club to agree to sell him after reaching a suitable price that includes some incentives and add-ons.

Ouattara joined Bournemouth in January 2023 from French club Lorient, and has made 88 appearances for the team, scoring 11 goals. The player is expected to undergo a medical examination within the next 24 hours.

With this deal, Brentford surpasses its previous transfer record set last year when they signed striker Igor Thiago from Club Brugge for £30 million.

In a related context, Bournemouth has already begun searching for a replacement for Ouattara, with Bayer Leverkusen winger and French international Amine Adli being one of their top targets to compensate for this departure.
