Al-Najma Saudi Club announced the completion of the signing of Brazilian defender Samir Caitano, 30 years old, coming from Tigres of Mexico, in a move aimed at strengthening the back line of the team recently promoted to the Professional League.

Caitano expressed his great happiness at joining Al-Najma, confirming in a video message to the club's fans that he is excited to start his new journey and looks forward to achieving a season full of successes and accomplishments alongside his teammates, praising the support of the fans and emphasizing the slogan "Forza Najma".

The Brazilian defender began his football career with Flamengo before experiencing professional stints in Europe, playing in the Italian league with Udinese and Hellas Verona, then moving to the English league through Watford in 2022, leading up to Tigres in Mexico.

Caitano is the third foreign player to join the team this season, following Slovenian David Tijanic and Honduran striker Romel Quioto, while the club's management continues its negotiations to complete contracts with seven other foreign players, including two from the birth category.

Al-Najma will play its first two league matches away against Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Riyadh, before hosting Al-Ittihad in the third round at King Abdullah Sports City in Buraidah, in a highly anticipated match against its fans.
