La Liga Club Leaders Oppose Miami Plan Until Full Information is Available

La Liga leaders have expressed their initial objection to the Miami plan, which aims to hold an official match of La Liga outside Spanish territory, specifically in the United States, until they receive all the details of the project.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", the players, through their union AFE led by David Aganzo, expressed their dissatisfaction with the passing of the decision without consulting them or informing them of its content.

Aganzo confirmed during a meeting of the Spanish Football Federation's board that the leaders have not yet been informed of the details of the match between Barcelona and Villarreal that will take place in the United States, demanding that implementation not proceed before the project is officially presented to the players.

The report indicated that Aganzo, who is also the vice president of the federation, criticized the speed of the decision-making in a meeting from which the president of La Liga was absent, considering that what happened violates Article 37 of the collective agreement between the league and the players, which stipulates the necessity of prior consultation and cooperation in projects to promote the league, especially those of an economic nature.

The players also demanded clarification of the criteria for selecting the clubs participating in the match, guarantees for transportation and medical and legal coverage, as well as mechanisms for distributing television broadcasting revenues. For his part, Miguel Angel Nadal, a member of the federation's board, also expressed his rejection of the project, pointing out that the clubs themselves have not been officially notified.

Therefore, team leaders continue to refuse to play any matches outside Spain as part of the Miami plan until they are fully involved in the project and all its legal, organizational, and financial aspects are clarified.
