Crystal Palace Chairman Acknowledges Possibility of Selling Marc Guéhi
Monday 11-08-2025
Steve Parish, the chairman of Crystal Palace, hinted at the possibility of the team captain Marc Guéhi leaving during the current summer transfer window, as his contract is nearing its end.

Parish stated: "Yes, we certainly have to think about it, losing players of this caliber without compensation is a problem, no doubt about it, unfortunately."

He added: "We received one offer last summer, but Joachim Andersen moved to Fulham, and we couldn't afford to lose both players at the same time."

He continued: "Then we received another offer in January, but the situation was difficult, and the player had his own perspective on that offer."

He concluded: "We have to see what happens, but it either needs a new contract or some kind of agreement."

Crystal Palace has set a price of £50 million for the sale of Marc Guéhi, whose contract expires at the end of the current season.

Liverpool is reportedly the main club interested in signing the 25-year-old England international defender, as they seek defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season.

It is worth mentioning that Crystal Palace recently won the FA Community Shield for the first time in its history, defeating Liverpool in a penalty shootout.
