Saturday 09-08-2025
The Brazilian Shamuska, coach of Al-Taawoun, confirmed his intention to sign his compatriot Gustavo Scarpa, a player from Atletico Mineiro, who is contracted with his club until 2027, making him one of his main targets in the summer transfer window.

Shamuska explained in his statements after the friendly match against Greek Olympiacos that his recommendation for the player was based on his own assessment, and that the club's management will submit an official offer to sign him in the upcoming period.

The coach added that he has not worked directly with Scarpa, but he received positive information from reliable professionals who have previously played with him, confirming that he possesses the quality that fits the high level of the Saudi league.

Scarpa has an impressive career, having previously represented clubs such as Olympiacos, Nottingham Forest, and Palmeiras before moving to Atletico Mineiro. He recently faced Al-Taawoun in a friendly match that ended in a 2-1 victory for Olympiacos.

Al-Taawoun plans to refresh the team's midfield by parting ways with Brazilian Flavio due to his recurring injuries and looking for alternatives for Moroccans Faisal Fajr and Abdul Hamid Sabiri after their departure at the end of last season.
