The Portuguese Jorge Jesus, coach of Al-Nassr, revealed the reason for his club's refusal to sign Uruguayan Darwin Nunez, the Liverpool striker, during the ongoing summer transfers.

Jesus stated in his remarks that Darwin Nunez was one of the available options to strengthen Al-Nassr's squad, but he will be moving to a rival club, referring to Al-Hilal.

He clarified that Nunez is a great player, but he performs best as a central striker, and at Al-Nassr, there is Cristiano Ronaldo, so there wouldn't be harmony between them.

Jesus added: "The deal to sign Bruno Fernandes did not happen because the player wants to continue with Manchester United. I spoke to him while he was training with Al-Hilal, but Bruno preferred to stay with the Red Devils."

He concluded his remarks by stating that he has built a great team for Al-Hilal in the past two seasons and is excited about his new experience with Al-Nassr, which he joined at the invitation of CEO Jose Semedo and team captain Cristiano Ronaldo.
