The Future of Reda Alaoui Between Hull City and the EFL Transfer Ban
Friday 08-08-2025
Hull City's management announced its desire to sign midfielder Reda Alaoui from Fath Rabat for around £400,000.

Despite reaching a preliminary agreement in June 2025, the deal has been stalled due to the transfer ban imposed by the English Football League (EFL) on the club, preventing it from registering new players for three consecutive transfer windows.

The club has filed an appeal against the decision, with a ruling expected within 48 hours.

If the ban is lifted, Hull City will be able to register Alaoui permanently and include him in next season's roster; however, if the ban continues, the club plans to temporarily loan the player with an undocumented agreement to sign him once the ban is lifted.

From a technical standpoint, Alaoui is considered one of the most promising talents in Moroccan football, but his recent injury and absence from training, along with waiting for the appeal decision, may hinder his integration with the team.

The fate of the deal remains uncertain until the appeals committee's decision is issued, with both parties prepared to deal with any scenario, whether through immediate signing or resorting to temporary legal solutions.
