Zakho Club announced the renewal of its international midfielder Amjad Atwan's contract for an additional season, allowing for continued collaboration between the two parties after a successful season in which the player shone prominently in the Iraqi Stars League.

The renewal came after calm negotiations between the club's management and the player, amidst significant interest from prominent local clubs that were seeking to acquire his services, most notably Al-Zawraa and Al-Tabba.

However, Atwan preferred to continue with the sons of Khabour, expressing his comfort and harmony with the club's atmosphere and its fans.

Amjad Atwan is considered one of the most prominent midfield players in Iraqi football over the past few years, with a long career with the national team, in addition to multiple local and foreign experiences that have contributed to shaping his personality on the field.

According to sources close to the club, Atwan's stay was based on a clear technical desire from the coaching staff, who see him as a cornerstone in the midfield, both in terms of leadership and tactical diversity in his roles.

Zakho aims to build on the stability of its core lineup for the upcoming season, especially after renewing the contract of one of its main pillars, amidst a project aimed at competing for top positions in the league and enhancing the team's presence in the local arena.
