Mourinho Breaks His Silence.. Sharp Mockery Targets Amrabat
Amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of several players during the summer transfer period, Portuguese coach José Mourinho broke his silence in a sarcastic manner, following rumors about the potential departure of Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat from the Turkish club Fenerbahçe.
Mourinho's response came during the press conference following his team's defeat to Dutch side Feyenoord (2-1) in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, where he sarcastically said: "During the transfer window, it seems like I spend 23 hours a day on the phone, talking to 500 players and agents. The truth? I have only spoken to one player, and that is Skriniar."
Mourinho directed his criticism directly at the Turkish media, adding: "There are many rumors here, they say Amrabat will move to this club, and another player to that team… in the end, just baseless news."
Despite the Portuguese coach's mockery, Turkish media reports confirmed that Fenerbahçe received official offers to part ways with Amrabat, but they did not meet the required financial level, while the Moroccan player is trying to convince Mourinho of his performance, despite not being included in his tactical plans so far.
