Tottenham Targets Lookman to Replace Son's Departure
Journalist Fraser Fletcher reported that English club Tottenham is showing strong interest in acquiring Nigerian Ademola Lookman, forward of Atalanta, during the current summer transfer window, as part of the club's plan to compensate for the potential departure of its captain Son Heung-min.
According to reports, Tottenham has placed Lookman among its priorities on the shortlist, alongside Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, as the Atalanta star is viewed as an alternative plan due to his experience in the Premier League and his ability to play in several attacking positions.
Tottenham's interest comes after Lookman submitted a formal transfer request to Atalanta's management, amid strong expectations of his departure before the end of the transfer period, with the Italian club valuing the player at around 50 million euros.
Tottenham faces strong competition from Inter Milan, which has made an initial offer to sign Lookman; however, Atalanta's management rejected it and is insisting on receiving the required amount before agreeing to sell the player.
