Release of Thomas Partey
Tuesday 05-08-2025
Ghanaian footballer Thomas Partey appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court in London on Tuesday, where he was charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault, relating to three women.

These allegations date back to the period between 2021 and 2022, when he was a player for English club Arsenal.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reported that Partey was granted conditional bail, on the condition that he does not contact any of the three women involved in the case, as well as needing to inform the police of any permanent change in his residence or if he wishes to travel abroad.

In a previous statement, Partey's lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, confirmed that her client "denies all the charges against him," noting that the player "welcomes the opportunity presented to him to finally clear his name" in front of justice.
