Qusay Hisham Comments on Al-Student's Deal with Talal Al-Balushi
Iraqi coach Qusay Hisham commented on the contract step of Al-Student Club with Qatari coach Talal Al-Balushi, pointing out that the experience needs time to mature, as happened in his previous experience with Zakho Club in the Iraqi Stars League.
Hisham said: "Any administration that recruits a coach certainly has confidence in that coach."
He explained that Al-Balushi's experience with Zakho went through difficult stages in its beginning:
He added: "The administration was patient with the coach, and then he started applying his ideas, and in the first six to seven matches, the team's level was very poor, but over time, his fingerprints appeared on the team's performance."
Regarding the difference between the administrations of Al-Student and Zakho:
Hisham replied: "I see this as a distinctive deal for Al-Student team, because Al-Balushi worked in the Iraqi league for almost two seasons with Zakho, and I believe his experience was successful with the children of Khabour, despite the poor results in the last ten matches that led to his dismissal."
He continued: "It was a successful experience in terms of recruiting players and the style of play adopted by the coach. The team was close to competing for the first place in the final meters, which is something rare in Zakho's history as they have never competed for the league title."
Hisham added while talking about the history of Al-Student: "Al-Student has suffered a lot in the last twenty years. I believe the last league and cup championship the team won was in the 2002-2003 season when I was a player with them. For 22 years, the team has been absent from the podiums of glory."
He continued: "In the previous season, somewhat, Al-Student returned to the atmosphere of competition under the leadership of coach Basim Qasim, and I wished he would continue with the team, as he knew every little detail inside the club, but the administration had a different opinion."
Hisham concluded his talk by saying: "I believe that Al-Student's ambition next season will be greater, and the team is capable of being among the top four positions, provided there is technical stability and patience with the coaching staff led by Talal Al-Balushi."
