Tuesday 29-07-2025
The administrative body of Al-Zawraa Club announced the completion of a distinguished triple deal, after signing three players at once from Khalidiya Club of Bahrain, in a move that confirms the seriousness of the white team in building a strong and integrated lineup in preparation for the new season of the Iraqi Stars League.

Al-Zawraa officially signed the Iraqi left-back Dhirgham Ismail, who returns to Iraqi pitches after his experience in the Bahraini league, marking a long-awaited return for one of the most prominent defenders in Iraqi football over the last decade.

The coaching staff, led by Abdul Ghani Shahid, relies on Dhirgham's extensive experience in leading the back line and adding technical and tactical weight to the left flank.

Al-Zawraa also strengthened its midfield by signing Jordanian star Nizar Al-Rashdan, one of the most prominent midfield players in Jordanian football, who previously played for Al-Faisaly, Nawruz, and Al-Hussein Irbid, and delivered remarkable performances that made him a target for many clubs before settling in Baghdad at the coach's request.

The most notable historical signing was the acquisition of Bahraini international striker Mahdi Al-Humaidan, making him the first Bahraini player to play professionally in the Iraqi league, a personal and historical achievement added to Al-Zawraa's record.

Al-Humaidan is considered one of the most prominent Bahraini talents in recent years, known for his speed, high skills, and ability to create chances and score.

Sources close to the club expect that the previous understanding among the three players, during their time with Khalidiya, will facilitate the process of harmony on the pitch, giving Al-Zawraa a technical advantage from the start of the season, especially since the players share a common understanding of the playing style and have a similar background in terms of discipline and tactical harmony.

These moves are part of a comprehensive plan to rebuild a team capable of competing locally and regionally, amid significant fan support and a return of confidence in a new technical project led by coach Abdul Ghani Shahid, who seems to have acquired the tools he deems suitable to implement his vision on the green rectangle.
