Riyad Mahrez Praises Infrastructure in Morocco Ahead of 'CAN 2025'

The Algerian international Riyad Mahrez praised Morocco's readiness to host the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, noting that the organizational conditions and infrastructure provided by the kingdom represent a positive factor for all participating teams, including the Algerian national team.

In an interview broadcasted on the Carré YouTube channel, the star of Al-Ahli Saudi and captain of the Desert Warriors said: "Morocco is a neighboring country, and it shares the same conditions with us; the conditions will be excellent, the stadiums are good, and their pitches as well. This is something that will make us feel comfortable, so I hope that the 'CAN' will be great, and that we reach the final."

Regarding his future with the national team, Mahrez opened the door to the idea of international retirement after his potential participation in the 2026 World Cup, saying: "If we qualify for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, it will be the last major tournament I participate in with Algeria."

It is worth mentioning that the Algerian national team was drawn in Group E of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 alongside Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan.

The anticipated tournament will take place in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, amid widespread anticipation for the participation of the continent's teams and the return of the tournament to North Africa.
