William Saliba stated that he "hopes" to follow in the footsteps of his defensive partner Gabriel by signing a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

The 24-year-old player, who has two years left on his current contract, is currently in discussions with Arsenal regarding the contract renewal.

He commented on this: "Renewal? Yes, we hope so - of course, there is nothing right now, but there is a good conversation with my agent and the club; let's see."

Regarding his goals for the new season, he clarified: "Every year is different from the other. We have to learn from the past three seasons."

He continued: "Of course, we are lucky to have the opportunity to compete again in the Premier League and strive for victory."

He added: "Our goal is to win the Premier League, and we will do our best from the first match. We have many new players, and we hope they will help us win this league."
