Sky Italia reported that the Italian club Fiorentina has entered into serious negotiations with Saudi Al Ahly in an attempt to acquire Ivorian Frank Kessie during the current summer transfer window.

These moves come after Italian coach Stefano Pioli expressed a strong desire to sign Kessie, as he sees him as an ideal option to strengthen the team's midfield ahead of the new season in Serie A.

The increasing Italian interest in the player coincides with the nearing end of his contract with Al Ahly, which has only one year left, officially ending his association with the club in June 2026.

Fiorentina's management is trying to exploit the remaining duration of Kessie's contract to pressure Al Ahly's management and reach an agreement that allows them to acquire him this summer without waiting until the end of the contract.

The Italian club's management aims to finalize the deal quickly, especially since Kessie has extensive experience in Serie A, making his integration into the team easier if the deal goes through.
