Al-Zawraa Approaches Contracting with Mahdi Al-Humaidan
Thursday 24-07-2025
The Iraqi Al-Zawraa Club is close to completing one of its most prominent deals in the ongoing summer transfer market, having reached a nearly final agreement with Bahraini international Mahdi Al-Humaidan to represent the team during the upcoming season, in a move that reflects the "Nawaris" ambition to return strongly to compete for local and continental titles.

According to a source from Al-Rabia Sports Channel, the Al-Zawraa management has finalized most of the details of the agreement with Al-Humaidan, with only the official announcement of the deal remaining, as negotiations are progressing in the right direction, amidst positive atmospheres and a mutual desire from both parties to make the contract successful.

Mahdi Al-Humaidan, who is 31 years old, is considered one of the most prominent names in Bahraini football in recent years, playing as an attacking winger, and is distinguished by his ability to create plays, dribble, and speed in offensive transitions. He has previously represented the Bahraini national team in several regional and continental tournaments, in addition to his experiences with local and Gulf clubs that have left a clear mark.

The deal carries a special competitive aspect, especially since Al-Humaidan was also on the radar of Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya Club, which entered the negotiations earlier; however, Al-Zawraa succeeded in winning the race after presenting a suitable technical and financial offer that aligned with the player's aspirations.

Al-Humaidan is expected to be a strong addition to the white team, which, under the leadership of the new coach Abdul Ghani Shahid, aims to build a complete team that includes distinguished local and professional elements capable of bringing Al-Zawraa back to the path of championships after a several-season absence.

Al-Zawraa fans, for their part, reacted strongly to the circulating news about Al-Humaidan nearing the wearing of the white jersey, considering that signing an international player of this technical value represents a serious step from the management towards restoring the team's position on the football scene.

If the deal is officially completed in the coming hours or days, Al-Humaidan will be the first of the professional signings that the new coaching staff will rely on, as part of a comprehensive project aimed at bringing Al-Zawraa back to local championship podiums and representing Iraq strongly on the external front.
