Baghdad Municipality Club Signs African Striker

Baghdad Municipality Club, newly promoted to the Iraqi Stars League, announced on Thursday its official signing of Tunisian striker Hamdi Al-Abidi from the Tunisian Club Africain, in its first deal in preparation for the new season.

The deal, which took place after negotiations held in recent days, serves as a clear message from the management of Baghdad Municipality confirming its intention to enter the league in a different guise, as Al-Abidi, 25 years old, signed a contract extending for two seasons with the Baghdad team, in a move aimed at strengthening the front line with a player who has experience and a background in one of the top clubs in North Africa.

Al-Abidi has an impressive record with Club Africain, having played over 126 matches in various competitions, during which he scored several goals and delivered consistent performances that earned him the trust of the team's fans. He has also represented the Tunisian national team on two occasions.

For his part, the president of Baghdad Municipality Club, Falah Al-Masoudi, expressed his happiness at completing this deal, confirming in an official statement that the club has ambitious plans for the upcoming phase. He said, "The Al-Abidi deal is just the beginning, and there are concrete steps to strengthen the team with quality signings that befit the size of the upcoming phase."

He added, "We aspire to present an honorable season in the Iraqi Stars League, and we believe that solid building starts with signing influential and experienced players."

Al-Masoudi also extended his thanks and appreciation to everyone who congratulated the team on its promotion to the Stars League, pointing out that this achievement came thanks to the collective work provided by the administrative body in the spirit of teamwork and the determination to restore the name of Baghdad Municipality to its natural place among the elite.

Al-Masoudi indicated that the club's management will continue to work calmly and steadily to build a team that will be a formidable force in the Iraqi Stars League, through studied recruitment and precise technical planning, while focusing on the disciplinary and mental aspects of the players.
