Valencia Targets Oriol Romeu
Media reports have indicated that the Spanish club Valencia has shown interest in acquiring Oriol Romeu, the Barcelona midfielder, during the current summer transfer window, as the player is nearing a departure from the Catalan team.
Previous reports had confirmed Romeu's exclusion from the Asian preparatory tour for the new season, following a decision by coach Hans Flick, as he has fallen out of his technical plans, which enhances the likelihood of his departure this summer, a year before the end of his contract.
According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," Valencia believes that the 33-year-old would be a strong addition to the team's midfield at a low financial cost, with the possibility of terminating his contract with Barcelona amicably, especially since the player has shown a willingness to reduce his salary to facilitate the transfer.
The newspaper also pointed out that Girona is interested in bringing back the player, who previously played for them on loan last season, and that Romeu wore the Valencia jersey before during the 2013/2014 season on loan from Chelsea at the beginning of his career.
