Al-Hilal Faces Penalties After Withdrawing from Saudi Super Cup
Legal advisor Riyad Al-Zahrani confirmed that Al-Hilal Club may face severe penalties, based on Article 59/3 of the Disciplinary and Ethical Regulations, after its withdrawal from the Saudi Super Cup.
Al-Zahrani clarified that an unsubstantiated withdrawal, if proven, exposes the team to a financial fine of 500,000 riyals, as one of the main components of the potential penalty.
The punishment also includes being considered a loser and being deprived of completing matches in the competition, which directly affects its competitive participation in the current tournament.
Al-Zahrani added that Al-Hilal could be banned from participating in the next edition of any similar tournament, negatively impacting its sports schedule for the upcoming season.
The measures also include depriving the team of the financial prizes associated with the tournament, with the possibility of referring the case file to the organizing body for further actions.
Al-Zahrani pointed out that penalties are not applied automatically, but depend on the extent to which it is proven that Al-Hilal's withdrawal was made without an acceptable official excuse according to the approved regulations.
