Al-Khulood English Club announced its contract with coach Des Buckingham to lead the first team in the upcoming season, with a contract extending for one season with an option to extend, supported by the new American owner Ben Harburg.

Buckingham, 40 years old, has extensive experience, having previously coached clubs such as Oxford United in England and Mumbai City in India, in addition to notable Australian experiences.

His most notable moments in the spotlight include a heavy defeat against Al-Hilal with a score of 6-0 in the 2023 AFC Champions League when he was leading Mumbai City, a match that marked a turning point in his professional career.

The coach left his Indian team after the second defeat against Al-Hilal in the return match with a score of 2-0, before later taking on a temporary role with the New Zealand national team, and then leading Wellington and Melbourne City in the Australian league.

Today, Buckingham returns to European fields through Al-Khulood, carrying great hopes for a qualitative leap with the team, amidst a large following for the new league that enjoys increasing investment support.
