Egyptian Federation Contributes to Saving Zamalek's Deal and Registering Ittihad Tanger Star

The Egyptian Football Association has resolved the controversy surrounding the possibility of registering young Moroccan player Abdelhamid Maali, who has recently transferred to Zamalek SC from Ittihad Tanger, under the 'Under Age' list.

The Football Association confirmed in an official statement that the registration of foreign players under age is limited to those born in 2005 only, within the second team list, which is the same category representing the national youth team under 20 years old.

The Federation explained that a new competition dedicated to this age group will be launched starting from the next season, aimed at developing their technical level in a suitable competitive environment.

Regarding Abdelhamid Maali's case, the statement clarified that the player was born in 2006, thus Zamalek is entitled to register him under age without occupying a place in the first team list or counting against the allowed number of foreign players, providing Zamalek with greater flexibility in its technical and transitional management.

The Federation also revealed its intention to organize new competitions for younger age groups and to expand the grassroots base for practicing football across the republic, while confirming that the new decisions do not apply to Premier League teams associated with the first division.
