Mohammed Saleh: I go to clubs without achievements and grant them titles
On a historic night that will remain etched in the memories of Duhok fans, goalkeeper Mohammed Saleh expressed his great happiness after his direct contribution in leading his club to achieve its first title in history in the Iraq Cup, following a victory over Zakho in a penalty shootout 5-3, after a marathon match that ended in a goalless draw in both regular and extra time.
Mohammed Saleh said in a statement after the match:
"Any team that does not have an achievement, when I go with it, I achieve an achievement for it.. This is not a coincidence, but rather the result of work, sacrifices, and commitment both on and off the field."
The Duhok goalkeeper confidently added:
"I am very proud of this historic achievement with Duhok, the club that fought until the last moment and wrote its name today in the records of Iraqi football. What has been achieved was not easy, but rather the result of collective effort from the administration, technical staff, players, and fans."
It is worth mentioning that Mohammed Saleh is no stranger to podiums, having previously won the Iraq Cup with the Air Force team, repeating the achievement this time with a different club, thus confirming his value as a decisive goalkeeper in major matches.
Saleh continued his talk, saying:
"My confidence in myself did not waver, whether in regular time, extra time, or even at the moment of penalty shootouts. I knew that I would be one of the keys to victory, and thank God the dream was realized."
He concluded his statement with a message to the Duhok fans, saying:
"This cup is for you.. You are the ones who were patient and supportive, and today is a day of joy for all the club's lovers. What has been achieved is just the beginning, and the coming days will be even better, God willing."
