Haroun Ahmed: We think only of the cup.. and we will fight to make the fans happy
Duhok Club player Haroun Ahmed confirmed that the team enters the Iraq Cup final with high spirits and great ambition to achieve the title, emphasizing that all players feel the responsibility and are ready to give everything they have to win the championship and make the fans happy.
Haroun said in press statements hours before the awaited match against Zakho:
"We are facing a historic opportunity, and every player in the team feels the weight of this moment, but at the same time, we have the confidence and readiness to face the final with all our strength."
He added: "We have gone through a tough journey in the cup, facing strong opponents, but we have overcome all obstacles with a united team spirit, and we are now one step away from the dream, so our focus is entirely on the match only."
Regarding the controversy surrounding the change of the match venue from Newroz to Al-Shab International Stadium, Haroun clarified:
"Honestly, we preferred to play the match in our stadium and among our fans, but we respect the federation's decision, and we will not let that affect our preparation or spirit. Our goal is the same, whether we play in Duhok, Sulaymaniyah, or Baghdad; we play for the badge."
Haroun also praised the technical work done by coach Suleiman Ramadan with the team, saying:
"Captain Suleiman has created a strong mix of players and succeeded in building a balanced system both offensively and defensively. We trust his plans and instructions, and we will step onto the field to implement them in the best possible way."
The Duhok player concluded his talk with a message to the fans:
"We know that the Duhok fans have been dreaming of this day for many years, and we promise them that we will fight on the field from the first minute to the last. God willing, we will make all the people of Duhok happy with the cup, as it deserves to return to our home."
