Media figure Ahmed Shouber stated that Imam Ashour wishes to remain within the ranks of Al-Ahly.

Shouber added in radio statements during the "With Shouber" program on "On Sport FM": "Imam Ashour informed Mohamed Youssef, the sports director of Al-Ahly, that he will not demand more than what Al-Ahly offers and that he is at the club's service, and he will carry out what the management requests from him. It's confirmed that the player wants to continue his journey with the team."

He continued: "At the same time, Al-Ahly recognizes the great performance the player has shown recently, and there is indeed an intention to extend and amend his contract with Al-Ahly with a figure that matches his capabilities, and Al-Ahly is still keen on keeping the player."

Reports have confirmed that Ashour has requested Al-Ahly to amend his contract and receive a financial compensation equivalent to what duo Ahmed Sayed Zizo and Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet earn.
