Shobeir Reveals Behind-the-Scenes of the Meeting Between Torop and Yassin Mansour
The journalist Ahmed Shobeir revealed the behind-the-scenes details of the meeting that took place between Al-Ahly coach Jes Torup, the club's vice president Yassin Mansour, and board member Sayed Abdelhafiz.
Shobeir said in his statements: "The situation is very difficult between Al Ahly and Torop. I mentioned that drafting contracts at Al Ahly is a bit weak, and the rumors about a meeting between Yais Torop, Yassin Mansour, and Sayed Abdelhafiz are true, but it was a hasty meeting because of Mr. Torop."
He continued: "Torop spoke with the two members of the Al-Ahly board about the technical aspects, but regarding the contract, he told them to talk to his agency and refused to discuss or listen to any proposals they offered him."
He explained: "Torup has two agents, one Danish and the other Jordanian. The Danish agent is a lawyer, so Al Ahly is still figuring out how to resolve the situation. But I must say that the contract was written very poorly. I've never seen a contract that states it ends at the end of the new season."
Shobeir added: "But if someone tells you the matter is over, tell them no, it's difficult, and the man completely refused to discuss it. He told them, just as you contracted with the agent, we will go through him. The matter, as they say in English, is very sensitive and complicated, and agents always prefer to have the conversation directly with them."
