The Spanish club Villarreal announced the renewal of the contract of Ivorian winger Nicolas Pepe until June 2028, after his previous contract was set to expire in the summer of 2026.

Pepe (born in Mont-la-Jolie, France, on May 29, 1995) joined Villarreal in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer and successfully established himself as a key player in the formation of coach Marcelino Garcia Toral during his first season.

Pepe played 28 matches with Villarreal last season (1496 minutes), scoring 3 goals and providing 6 assists, playing a pivotal role in the final rounds of the season, helping the team achieve their goal of qualifying for the Champions League.

It is worth noting that Pepe has previously played for clubs such as Arsenal in England, Lille, Nice, Angers, and Trabzonspor in Turkey, and he has been a mainstay in the Ivory Coast national team since 2016, having played 47 international matches, scoring 11 goals and providing 4 assists.

With this renewal, Villarreal continues to strengthen its technical stability in preparation for a strong season on both domestic and European fronts.
