Reports have confirmed that Johan Bakayoko, a player from the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven, is close to joining German Leipzig during the current summer transfer window, in a move that Leipzig's management is pursuing to strengthen the team's roster in preparation for the new season.

Famous journalist Florian Plettenberg stated via his official account on the platform "X" that Leipzig has reached a verbal agreement with Bakayoko for his signing, while negotiations with PSV Eindhoven regarding the player's transfer fee, which could reach 20 million euros, are ongoing. Bakayoko has been absent from his current team's training, which enhances the chances of his departure to the German league.

Bakayoko is 22 years old and began his career in the Belgian league before moving to PSV Eindhoven, where he progressed through the youth teams until he was promoted to the first team in 2022.
