Al-Hilal Competes to Acquire Fiorentina Striker Amidst Battle with Manchester United
Friday 11-07-2025
Saudi Al-Hilal Club continues its strong movements in the summer transfer market, this time seeking to acquire the Italian international striker Moise Kean, a player for Fiorentina, according to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport".

According to the newspaper, Al-Hilal began negotiations with Kean's agent, Alessandro Lucci, last Thursday, without making an official offer yet. However, they have until next Tuesday to activate the player's release clause, which amounts to 52 million euros, before closing the door on this option.

The newspaper indicated that Kean previously rejected an attractive offer from Saudi Al-Qadisiyah worth 15 million euros annually, which prompted the club to turn to Atalanta's striker Matteo Retegui, with whom Al-Qadisiyah completed a deal worth up to 70 million euros.

Last season, Kean notably shone in Fiorentina's jersey, scoring 19 goals in the Italian league and totaling 25 goals in 44 matches across all competitions, placing his name once again among the most sought-after strikers in Europe.

"La Gazzetta" indicates that Al-Hilal has offered the Italian player a contract extending until 2029 with an annual salary of 20 million euros, a proposal that is being matched by English club Manchester United, which is looking to strengthen its attack this summer.

If the deal is completed, Kean will play under the guidance of his compatriot Filippo Inzaghi, the new head coach of Al-Hilal, who recently took over the team's training and led them to the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup before being eliminated by Brazilian Fluminense.

This move by Al-Hilal comes after officially announcing the signing of French star Theo Hernandez from Milan at the beginning of its summer transfer window, amid expectations of additional major signings in the coming days.
