CNN Portugal revealed that Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres is on the verge of transferring to English club Arsenal, after reaching a near-final agreement with Sporting Lisbon in a deal that could total 80 million euros.

According to the network, Arsenal will pay 65 million euros as a fixed fee, with additional variables that could range between 10 and 15 million euros, including 5 million linked to the number of matches the player will play in the Gunners' shirt, as well as other targets such as winning the Ballon d'Or or the team's triumph in the Champions League.

A delegation from Arsenal visited Lisbon last Friday to finalize negotiations with Sporting, successfully breaking the deadlock in the deal, and final arrangements between the two parties are expected to be completed today, Sunday, with the possibility of delaying the official announcement until later.

Journalist Ben Jacobs stated that Arsenal has reached an agreement with the player on personal terms, with the intention for him to sign a 5-year contract with the Gunners.

It is worth noting that Gyökeres, who is 27 years old, will not join Sporting Lisbon's training camp in preparation for starting his new experience with Arsenal next season.
