The Metropolitan Police of London has officially announced charges of rape against Ghanaian player Thomas Partey, the Arsenal midfielder, following extensive investigations based on a file of evidence submitted by investigators.

The British Public Prosecution Service confirmed that it granted permission to the police to bring charges against Thomas Partey after reviewing the presented evidence.

According to the official statement issued by the Metropolitan Police, five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault have been brought against the 32-year-old Partey.

Journalist Ben Jacobs stated that two charges of rape relate to one woman, three charges of rape concern another woman, in addition to one charge of sexual assault linked to a third woman.

The charges relate to incidents alleged to have occurred between 2021 and 2022.

Several media reports have indicated that Partey will be tried next August.
