Nico Williams, the winger of Athletic Bilbao, is preparing for a crucial meeting with his family and agents in the coming hours to make his final decision regarding Barcelona's offer, according to the newspaper "Mundo Deportivo."

The 22-year-old player prioritizes joining Barcelona; however, negotiations between the two parties have recently stalled due to Nico's request to include a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave for free if he is unable to be registered in the team’s roster for the new season, which the Catalan club has rejected to avoid any legal or financial repercussions on its management.

Barcelona has informed Nico's agent that the club is confident in its ability to create space in the salary cap to register all its new players, including Nico, through anticipated sales, loans, and renewals. The club also emphasized that including such a clause could expose the club and its officials to serious legal risks.

So far, the buyout clause in Nico's contract, which amounts to around 62 million euros, has not been activated, pending the player's final decision. If he agrees, the agreement between the parties will be completed, along with the necessary legal and financial procedures to finalize the deal.
