Spanish Authorities Reveal Details of Diogo Jota and His Brother's Death
The Spanish police announced today, Thursday, the details of the tragic accident that claimed the life of Portuguese star Diogo Jota, the Liverpool forward, and his brother Andre Silva in the Zamora province of Spain.
Investigations revealed that Jota's car, a Lamborghini, veered off the road and caught fire after a tire exploded while he was attempting to overtake a vehicle in front of him, around 3 AM local time. The police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire engulfed the entire car, and the flames spread to the surrounding vegetation at the accident site.
It is noted that Jota, who recently married his girlfriend Rute Cardoso on June 22, was spending his vacation in Spain after the season in which he celebrated winning the Premier League title with Liverpool.
