Soto has a long professional experience spanning over 20 years in the field of law and tax consulting, having worked as a partner in one of the leading law firms in Spain, in addition to his background as a former referee and delegate of the Galician referees committee.
Francisco Soto now takes on the responsibility of appointing key positions within the new refereeing structure, including the spokesperson, the standards committee, the person in charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), and responsibilities for refereeing in women's football, futsal, and beach soccer.
This appointment comes as part of the Spanish Federation's efforts to develop the refereeing system and enhance the values of professionalism and transparency, ensuring quality performance and officiating in various local and international competitions.
