Officially.. Toronto announces the departure of Bernardeschi
Toronto FC officially announced the termination of the contract with Italian winger Federico Bernardeschi by mutual agreement, as part of a policy to reduce financial burdens and rebuild the team.
The club's general manager, Jason Hernandez, said: "After internal discussions with Federico, we agreed that this is the right time for separation. We thank Fede for his contributions to Toronto over the past three years, and we wish him success in the next chapter of his career."
During his time with Toronto FC, Bernardeschi (31 years old) participated in: 88 matches in Major League Soccer, scoring 26 goals and providing 22 assists in 99 matches across all competitions, and was selected twice in the Team of the Week in the 2025 season.
Thus, Bernardeschi closes an important chapter in his career, as he is expected to embark on a new experience in Europe or one of the major leagues in the upcoming period.
