Vlahovic's Future Sparks Controversy at Juventus
The future of Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who plays for Italian club Juventus, is surrounded by uncertainty for the upcoming season, amid the club's desire for him to leave during the summer transfer window.
According to what was revealed by the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport", Vlahovic is rejecting all offers and proposals made by Juventus management regarding his departure this summer, despite interest from Turkish club Fenerbahce in signing him.
The newspaper clarified that the player insists on staying with the team until the end of his contract, aiming to become a free agent, especially since his salary is set to increase in his final season with Juventus from 7.5 million euros to 12.5 million euros annually.
Tension has become evident between Vlahovic and Juventus officials, as his role has diminished to become the second option in the attack under former coach Thiago Motta and current coach Igor Tudor.
The newspaper also pointed out the difficulty of finding another club capable of bearing his high salary at the moment, especially after his performance declined and he gradually lost his starting position during the past season.
Juventus had signed Vlahovic in January 2022 from Fiorentina for a fee of 70 million euros, plus 10 million euros in variables, and the club is currently considering adopting the same approach it used with Federico Chiesa, by excluding the player from the team's plans for the upcoming season in an attempt to pressure him to leave.
