Arsenal Leads the Race to Sign Hugo Ekitike
Sunday 29-06-2025
The German newspaper "Bild" revealed that Arsenal has returned to the forefront in the race to sign French striker Hugo Ekitike, who plays for Eintracht Frankfurt, during the summer transfer window.

The newspaper clarified that Arsenal has reached an agreement on personal terms with Ekitike and considers him a priority after negotiations with Viktor Gyökeres of Sporting Lisbon and Benjamin Šeško of Leipzig stalled.

Despite Eintracht Frankfurt's insistence on a financial demand of up to 100 million euros for their 23-year-old player, Arsenal is carefully evaluating its options, aware of the difficulty in reducing the German club's demands.

"Bild" confirmed that Liverpool remains one of the main competitors for the deal, having held talks with Ekitike's representatives, although they have not yet entered into formal negotiations with Frankfurt. Liverpool is expected to take further action following Darwin Núñez's transfer to Napoli.

Ekitike is currently considered one of the most promising young strikers in Europe, having made a significant impact with Frankfurt, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions last season.
