Bayern Munich Enters Race to Sign Jamie Getins
The German newspaper "Kicker" reported that Bayern Munich has included the young Borussia Dortmund winger, Jamie Getins, 20 years old, among its summer targets, which could open a new race with Chelsea.
The deal between Getins and Chelsea was almost certain, but Dortmund rejected the offer made by the English club due to its low value, which prevented its completion before the start of the Club World Cup, prompting the player to travel with his team to the United States.
The newspaper indicated that Bayern Munich has contacted the player's agent, who wishes to leave Dortmund after losing his starting position with coach Nico Kovac.
Borussia Dortmund is demanding at least 65 million euros for the sale of Getins, while Chelsea has made an offer of 55 million euros, which may push Bayern to improve its offer to enter the competition.
Bayern's signings this summer have been limited, following Florian Wirtz's transfer to Liverpool and Nico Williams' preference to move to Barcelona, putting sporting director Max Eberl under pressure to find alternatives to strengthen the team.
It is noted that Chelsea has offered Getins a 7-year contract with an annual salary of 6.5 million euros, compared to his current salary at Dortmund, which is 3.5 million euros per year.
Bayern Munich is also monitoring other attacking options, including Rafael Leão from Milan and Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain, in the club's efforts to strengthen its squad during the summer transfer window.
