Reports have revealed that FC Barcelona is close to finalizing the renewal of French right-back Jules Koundé's contract in the near future, as the current contract expires in June 2027.

Journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed that the club and the player have reached a preliminary agreement to extend the contract, with full approval from Koundé, and there are no obstacles preventing the completion of the deal.

Barcelona is expected to officially announce the renewal of Koundé's contract in the coming weeks, as part of the club's plan to solidify the core team, following the contract extensions of key players such as Lamine Yamal and Raphinha.

During the 2024/2025 season, Koundé participated in 54 matches with Barcelona across all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 8 assists. He joined the Catalan team in the summer of 2022 from Sevilla.
