The Confederation of African Football (CAF) commented on the match between Al Ahly and Inter Miami that took place early this Sunday as part of the first round of the Club World Cup, which ended in a 0-0 draw.

CAF stated on its official website: "The scene was set, with intense heat, and fans gathered in red, marking a promising start for Al Ahly's new coach, José Ribeiro, but the long-awaited celebration for the people of Cairo did not materialize, as the Egyptians failed to capitalize on their dominance, losing two precious points in Group A of the Club World Cup."

It continued: "In Miami, the Egyptian champions squandered a golden opportunity for victory, with Al Ahly drawing 0-0 against Inter Miami in a match that was overshadowed by regret as Al Ahly players competed to miss chances."

It added: "The missed penalty by Mahmoud Trezeguet was the turning point in the match, while goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy delivered an outstanding performance, especially in the final moments of the match with exceptional saves."

It concluded: "Al Ahly now needs to secure a victory against Brazilian Palmeiras in the match scheduled for next Thursday to keep their hopes alive for advancing to the Round of 16 in the Club World Cup."
