Real Madrid Considers Options to Sign Zubimendi
Friday 13-06-2025
The Spanish newspaper "AS" confirmed that Real Madrid is considering signing Martin Zubimendi, the midfielder from Real Sociedad, on a loan deal for one season after the conclusion of the FIFA Club World Cup.

The newspaper clarified that the management of the Merengues prefers the loan option to avoid paying the release clause, but they are also considering the possibility of a permanent transfer if an agreement cannot be reached with the Basque club.

Real Madrid is exploring several options to strengthen the midfield, including Vitinha and Joao Neves from Paris Saint-Germain, in addition to Angelo Stiller from Stuttgart, but Zubimendi is regarded as the preferred choice for the new coach Xabi Alonso, who previously worked with him in the Real Sociedad "B" team, and they share the same agent.

The Spanish player was also a primary target for Arsenal at the recommendation of Mikel Arteta, the Gunners' manager, but Real Madrid's involvement in the negotiations may change the course of the deal.

Real Madrid had strengthened its squad this summer by signing Dejan Huesin from Bournemouth and Alexander Arnold from Liverpool.
