The Portuguese national team won the European Nations League title by defeating Spain in a penalty shootout, after the original and extra time ended 2-2, in the final held on Sunday evening at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

The Spanish team took the lead through Martin Zubimendi in the 21st minute, after a cross and a defensive scramble in front of the goal allowed the ball to reach Zubimendi, who put it in the net.

In the 26th minute, Nuno Mendes scored the equalizer for the Portuguese team, after the ball reached him and he entered the penalty area before brilliantly shooting a ground ball into the net.

In the 45th minute, Mikel Oyarzabal scored a second goal for the Spanish team, after the ball reached him inside the penalty area, before he shot a ground ball that found the back of the net.

Cristiano Ronaldo managed to score the equalizer for the Portuguese team, after a ball from Nuno Mendes deflected off Lo Normand and reached the Don, who converted it into the goal.

The two teams headed to extra time, which brought nothing new despite the Portuguese team's superiority, leading the teams to a penalty shootout that smiled in favor of Portugal 5-3.
