A Spanish newspaper report revealed the latest developments regarding the transfer of Benfica's left-back Alvaro Carreras to Real Madrid during the current transfer market.

According to the Spanish newspaper 'Marca', Benfica will force Carreras to travel with the team’s delegation today, Sunday, heading to the United States to participate in the Club World Cup.

The source added that this decision is part of Benfica's negotiating strategy with Real Madrid regarding the value of the deal.

The Portuguese club is asking for 45 million euros, which is the buyout clause, in order to part with the player, while they are working to lower the price of the deal.

The source added that the royal club is very keen on signing the player and registering him with the team so that he can participate in the Club World Cup.
