The Scottish club Rangers announced today the appointment of coach Russell Martin as the head coach of the first team, with a contract extending for three years until the summer of 2027, in a move aimed at enhancing the club's sports project for the new season.

Martin, who is 39 years old, has extensive coaching experience, having managed over 250 matches with MK Dons, Swansea City, and Southampton, successfully leading the latter to promotion to the Premier League for the 2023/2024 season.

The Scottish coach previously represented his national team in 29 international matches and also played for Rangers on loan in 2018, alongside his playing career with Norwich City in the Premier League.

Martin expressed his happiness about returning to Rangers, stating: "I am well aware of the ambitions of the club and its fans, and I will work hard to bring success back to the team. Our goal is clear: to win matches and titles, and to present a team that plays courageously and satisfies the fans."
